Lab-grown Sapphire:
This category includes cultivated or man-made sapphires along with natural sapphires as they possess the same chemical, physical, and optical properties; however, they are created within a laboratory. These sapphires are made using processes that mimic the conditions under which sapphires are created on the Earth, though the process is much more rapid and controlled, not to mention the fact that lab sapphires are identical in every way to their natural counterparts and have many of the same applications in fine jewelry and in industrial settings.
Synthetic Sapphire:
Synthetic sapphires are also called lab-grown sapphires. The term “synthetic” refers to the process of making these sapphires — they were artificially produced in a laboratory rather than formed on Earth. The two most commonly used methods for synthesizing sapphires are the Verneuil process (flame-fusion) and the Czochralski method (crystal pulling). The “synthetic” in this case means the Lab-grown makes, but chemically, these sapphires are precisely like their pop-patterned brethren.

It allows the synthetic sapphire crystal to develop in the cooling and solidifying liquid. It is quick and cost-effective, so it is also widely used for smaller sapphires.
